CHAPTER & STATE EVENTS
The Youth
Hunt Unit Watch in Unit 6A was a great time for all. 112 boys and 19
girls stopped by our campsite to both register as hunters and enter drawings for door
prizes, first-in bonus goodie bags, and 2 Grand Prize Black Powder rifles.
Accompanying them were parents, siblings, and grandparents.
There were
numerous Az. G&F officers and other personel, as well as RMEF volunteers
from Flagstaff, Prescott, White Mountain, Phoenix, and Mesa Chapters. Also, Ron
Pittman, the RMEF - Az. Regional Director was on hand to open the weekend and
to award the Grand Prizes on Sunday. AzGFD Commissioner Bill McClain was a guest speaker on Thursday evening, addressing hunters and their parents. Our many thanks to them all for their help
throughout the weekend.

Mike Miller, owner of Southwest Meat Packing, who donated the hamburgers and hotdogs for the cookout. Mike also had a refer trailer on-site for game processing. Call 480 987 8700 for your processing needs.
Jim and Joanne Goodall, of St. Joseph's Youth Camp, 2 1/2 miles north of the Arena, provided a FREE BREAKFAST for hunters and their family members on Saturday morning. Call 928 354 2406 to book a week of camp for your kids. They have a great facility!
Sportsman's Warehouse, Phoenix, donated two Black Powder Rifles for our Grand Prize drawing. Be sure to visit any their many locations for your outdoor and hunting needs.
First boy in was Joaquin Tapia, Flagstaff, Az., a@ 7:30am. First girl in was Savanah Searles, Kingman, Az., @ 12:00 noon.
The first-in prize was a backpack full of great prizes which included an RMEF hat & t-shirt and lots of misc. outdoor gear for each winner.
$50.00 gift certificates from Western Drug in Springerville, Az. went to Bo Jager, from Wickenburg, Az. & Karley May, from Peoria, Az.
GRAND PRIZE WINNERS were Josh Taylor of Chandler, Az., and Kellee Wall of Phoenix, Az.
There were 31 of 56 door prizes also claimed. In addition, we had (over 80) gun cleaning kits, t-shirts, hats, 5-in-1 survival tools, backpack coolers, bandanas, toys for the little kids, and lots of other misc. donated items given away throughout the weekend.
